MSV - Music's Synonym Viswanathan

M.S.Viswanathan He is one of the most successful and versatile composers of the India. He composed music for more than 800 films and several non-film albums in five languages. He ruled the Tamil film music industry from early 1950s to early 1980s. Tamil film music can easily be distinguished as Pre-MSV Era and Post-MSV Era. Before MSV, film songs were based on Carnatic music. MSV was the first Tamil film composer to introduce Western-Classical fusion. He was the only composer who has handled more number of both Carnatic and Hindustani Raagas equally. MSV revamped the film music style which paved a path for the future composers. He was the first south Indian composer to compose a Ghazal album and that too in Tamil. Though he was active in film music till late 1980s, he never stopped composing till his demise. He worked on various non-film albums in the later years of his carrier. He was the only film composer who has collaborated with a Carnatic musician in an album. MSV and Maharajapur
